Path to Becoming a Lord - Goddard

Take heed, my lord! Though Goddard suffers from frequent volcanic activity, its strategic worth cannot be denied. The residents of Goddard wish for a lord who will rule the territory justly and firmly. Are you prepared to do so?

["Do you think now is the time?"]

The Varka Silenos and Ketra Orcs are the chief problem at the moment, but if their power could be reduced, I think we could contain them. Fortunately, they are fairly equally matched right now. But if one side becomes weaker, their fight could turn into an all-out war.

["What should I do?"]

Congratulations on your ascension to the lordship! I am confident you will rule wisely and well.

Both the Ketra Orc shaman, Asefa, and the Varka Silenos shaman, Wusan Mardui, are a great strength to their people. We must reduce their power. However, you must choose which tribe to target first.

Carefully consider the repercussions our actions will have with the other Orcs...

[We will focus on the Ketra Orcs first]

[We will focus on the Varka Silenos first]

Asefa, a Ketra Orc Shaman, and Wusan Mardui, a Varka Silenos Shaman, are a great source of strength to their respective tribes. We must reduce their power. But it will be meaningless to do so at the same time -- their attention will still be turned towards us. We must instead focus on them one at a time. Which one do you wish to deal with first?

[The Ketra Orcs]

[The Varka Silenos]

We have begun recruiting like-minded agents from the Varka Silenos in order to to reduce Asefa's power. Once these trustworthy followers gain the confidence of the Varka Silenos, have them approach the Varka's messenger, Naran Ashanuk. Then we will be able to obtain good information.

It's difficult to gain the confidence of the Varka Silenos. You must trust your followers and wait.

The Ketra Orcs are in turmoil. Unless we act, we could be negatively affected. The solution, of course, is to also create turmoil among the Varka Silenos. I suggest that you send trustworthy followers to the Ketra Orcs to help stabilize them while we prepare to weaken the power of the Varka Silenos. Have your agents approach the Ketra messenger, Wahkan. Then leave the rest to them.

Remember that their credibility will be damaged if they also helped the Varka Silenos.

The influence of the Ketra Orcs and the Varka Silenos have weakened considerably due to your inspired use of mercenaries. I am confident we can now defeat any invasion they attempt. You have proven your worth to become lord of Goddard Territory.

["I leave it in your hands"]

I believe you should temporarily delay your plans to become lord. There are more immediate concerns you must attend to.

(The quest cannot be completed during a territory war or castle siege.)

This territory must be stable before you can become lord. I urge you to conclude alliances with nearby fortresses.

(You cannot become lord when a fortress is in an independent status.)

I look forward to your just and benevolent rule, my lord.
